BISHKEK, May 2 (Universal Newswires) - A fire completely gutted a multi-storey hotel in Kyrgyzstan’s capital city, state authorities said on Tuesday.

The Kyrgyz ministry of emergency situations said no one was injured in the inferno that engulfed all three storeys of the privately owned property in Bishkek.

Ten people were safely evacuated from the building. Some of them were foreigners, but their nationalities were not divulged.

The fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Fire fighting authorities were told about the fire at 2:36 a.m., according to a press report from the emergency situations ministry.

Fire-fighters arrived at the hotel, located on Kurgaskoy street in Bishkek, five minutes later, the local KyrTAG news agency cited the report as saying.

Five fire brigades were mobilized.

The emergency crews got the blaze under control by 3:50 a.m., but took another seven hours to extinguish it.

The emergency ministry press statement said the fire fighting teams put the blaze out at 10:50 a.m.

The cause of the fire was not given.

Fires frequently break out in buildings in Central Asian states. Many of them have been constructed illegally by property developers who do not seek permits.
