BISHKEK (TCA) — The political parties system in Kyrgyzstan is still young and immature — with politicians and wealthy people often joining, and changing, this or that party for their personal, often commercial, interests. The incumbent President Atambayev has previously spoken for reducing the number of political parties in Kyrgyzstan’s parliament down to 2-3. And still, as the country heads for a presidential election, Atambayev’s own party has no unity in picking a single candidate.
