President Nazarbayev to feature on new banknotes in Kazakhstan

ASTANA (TCA) — The National Bank of Kazakhstan on December 1, 2016 — the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan — will put into circulation new 10,000-tenge (around $30) banknotes featuring the portrait of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, National Bank Chairman Daniyar Akishev said on November 15.

Kyrgyzstan aims at switching to ‘green’ economy

EBRD and EU support energy and water efficiency in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (TCA) — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is launching a new US$ 35 million credit line to boost energy savings and resource efficiency in the Kyrgyz Republic. The investment is an expansion of the Kyrgyz Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (KyrSEFF) and is complemented by more than €9.2 million in donor funding provided by the European Union’s (EU) Investment Facility for Central Asia, the EBRD Press Office said on November 14.
