World Bank projects economic growth in Central Asia in 2017-2018

BISHKEK (TCA) — Growth in the Europe and Central Asia region continued to pick up in the first half of 2017, with commodity exporters and commodity importers alike achieving recovery. The region has benefited from rising oil prices, benign global financing conditions, robust growth in the Euro area, and generally supportive policies in several large countries in the area, according to the World Bank report “Global Economic Prospects June 2017: A Fragile Recovery”.

Turkmenistan receives new combine harvesters from Germany

ASHGABAT (TCA) — On the eve of the grain-harvesting campaign, Turkmenistan has received the first batch of TUCANO 430 combine harvesters of the German company CLAAS. A ceremony of receiving the new agricultural machinery was held in Ak Bugday etrap of Akhal velayat (province), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported on June 5.

Turkmenistan hosts Central Asian international ecological forum

ASHGABAT (TCA) — The Turkmen capital, Ashgabat, is hosting the Central Asian international ecological forum “Initiative for cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development in Central Asia”. The three-day forum is devoted to climate change and rational use of water and has a value in the context of sustainable development of Central Asia, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported on June 5.
