TASHKENT (TCA) — French car manufacturer Groupe PSA and Uzbekistan’s state automobile company Uzavtosanoat have decided to jointly create an equally owned Joint Venture — Uzbekistan PCA, the companies said on May 16. This partnership aims at building a production plant in the Free Industrial Zone of Jizzakh, located 200 km from Tashkent, in Uzbekistan, to produce Peugeot and Citroën LCVs, for passenger and freight carriage. The Charter capital of the new JV will represent around 30 million euro, with equal shareholding. Global investments represent around 130 million euros.

ASTANA (TCA) — Kazakhstan’s automobile manufacturer LLP SaryarkaAvtoProm is expanding the line of motor vehicles produced and increasing exports. This was said during the visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev to the company’s plant in Kostanay on May 15, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

Nazarbayev was in Beijing to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on May 14-15.

ASHGABAT (TCA) — The UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) is marking its tenth anniversary as an entity working on a mandate focused on preventive diplomacy. The Centre, located in Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat, was established at the initiative of five Central Asian states by exchange of letters between the UN Secretary General and the President of the Security Council on 16 May 2007. In a region increasingly confronted with challenges and threats, UNRCCA has deployed preventive efforts to promote regional cooperation and assist Central Asian states to find mutually acceptable and beneficial solutions to these regional challenges, UNRCCA said.
