BISHKEK (TCA) — The General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan has checked the performance of anti-corruption legislation by law enforcement agencies and found that prevention of corruption “is not conducted at the proper level”. Violations have been revealed in the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, State Service on Drug Control (SSDC), State Customs Service, and Ministry of Internal Affairs. Continue reading
BISHKEK (TCA) — The legislative reform process of the Justice system in the Kyrgyz Republic over the last years is truly impressive. A lot of efforts in the reform agenda as well as in the sector on access to justice have been undertaken by the state authorities with the support of international donors and organizations. While the pace of change is truly remarkable, the common citizen’s perception of the “rule of law” system remains still relatively poor leading to a so called “legal nihilism”.
