UNDP trains energy efficiency managers for Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT (TCA) — The UNDP/GEF project “Improving energy efficiency in the residential building sector of Turkmenistan” is carrying out a series of national trainings on energy management. The first three trainings were held in Mary, Turkmenabat and Dashoguz. The fourth training on energy management in Turkmenistan took place with participation of 15 representatives of the national agencies of communal services of Ashgabat and Ahal region in July 2016, UNDP in Turkmenistan reported.

South Kazakhstan to cooperate with Austria

ASTANA (TCA) — A delegation of the South Kazakhstan Region, headed by First Deputy Governor Darkhan Satybaldy, visited Austria from August 1-6 to establish cooperation with the Austrian Federal State of Carinthia, as both regions have similar geographical conditions and economic structure, the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Kazakhstan expects FDI recover up to $9 billion by year-end

Fruit-and-berry festival helps expand Kyrgyz farmers’ production, export potential

BISHKEK (TCA) — The fourth annual fruit-and-berry festival “Karagat Fest” was held in Teploklyuchenka village of Ak-Suu district of Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region on August 6. The event has been held for the fourth consecutive year as part of the Karagat Plus Program implemented by AVEP Non-Governmental Foundation with the financial support of Kumtor Gold Company. The Company’s contribution to the program implementation and development of greenhouse facilities during the four years has amounted to KGS 67 million.

UCA brings together best students from Central Asia

BISHKEK (TCA) — Over three weeks, the University of Central Asia (UCA) hosted top 73 students from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan at the Second Annual Summer Camp, an integrated academic enrichment experience for Grade 10 students, whose closing ceremony took place at the Royal Beach Resort in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region on August 8. The Summer Camp participants built friendships and long-lasting relationships through science, debate, sports, drama and field trips, where they gained valuable experience practicing English-language skills and studying collaboratively.
