Turkmenistan would abolish free quotas for natural gas, water and electricity

ASHGABAT (TCA) — At a meeting with local entrepreneurs at Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on June 8, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov said that the state budget allows for maintaining benefits for the residents of Turkmenistan, the Chronicles of Turkmenistan independent website reported citing official Turkmen media. The existing benefit program provides for free quotas for electricity, natural gas and water to the citizens of Turkmenistan.

Remittances from Central Asian labor migrants sharply decrease

BISHKEK (TCA) — According to the Central Bank of Russia, in the first quarter of 2016 money remittances from Russia to CIS countries amounted to $914 million, which is almost twice as less than in the first quarter 2015 ($1.781 billion) and 3.7-fold less than in the same period in the pre-crisis year 2014 ($3.364 billion).

US promotes sales of Kyrgyz decorative stone in international markets

BISHKEK (TCA) — Three leading stone processing companies from the Kyrgyz Republic attended one of the largest industry events dedicated to stone, marble and ceramics – Middle East Stone 2016 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, USAID said on June 15. More than 230 companies showcased their products and 12,000 visitors attended for live demonstrations and networking opportunities. The United States through USAID sponsored the participation of the three Kyrgyz companies to promote exports of Kyrgyz construction materials.
