Useless anti-corruption standards, municipal property management violations aggravate corruption in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (TCA) — The General Prosecutor’s Office of Kyrgyzstan has checked the performance of anti-corruption legislation by law enforcement agencies and found that prevention of corruption “is not conducted at the proper level”. Violations have been revealed in the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes, State Service on Drug Control (SSDC), State Customs Service, and Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan remain on the EU Air Safety List

BISHKEK (TCA) — The European Commission in June updated the EU Air Safety List (so-called EU blacklist) in which 13 Kyrgyz and 19 Kazakh airlines are listed among 216 airlines certified in 19 states. These airlines do not meet international safety standards, and are therefore subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the European Union.

Nazarbayev instructs government to support Kazakh export

ASTANA (TCA) — On July 1, at the workshop on the results of industrialization in the first half of 2016, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the Government to develop a set of measures to support the export of Kazakhstani goods, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

Italian company wins tender for construction of Tajikistan’s Rogun power plant
