Khorgos hosts Kazakhstan-China business forum

ALMATY (TCA) — A business forum to attract investments was organized at the Khorgos International Centre of Boundary Cooperation (ICBC) at the initiative of the Administrative Committee of JSC ICBC Khorgos (Kazakhstan) and FEZ Khorgos (China), the press office of Kazakhstan’s national railways company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) reported on January 29.

US, World Food Programme partner to defeat malnutrition in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE (TCA) — Staff from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on January 26 joined United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Deputy Country Director Mariko Kawabata in a visit to Balkhi district in Khatlon province to review the progress of the recently launched project for the prevention and treatment of moderate acute malnutrition in Tajikistan. The group visited a project-supported rural health center and spoke with healthcare professionals and patients receiving support, the US Embassy in Dushanbe reported.

The high toll of traffic injuries in Central Asia: unacceptable and preventable

BISHKEK (TCA) — Central Asian countries, and Kazakhstan in particular, have high numbers of road traffic accidents resulting in deaths and injuries every year. The problem can be solved by joint efforts of the governments and the public, and introduction of international best practices in the road traffic safety sphere.
