U.S. completes USAID Land Reform and Farm Restructuring Project in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE (TCA) — The USAID Land Reform and Farm Restructuring Project hosted an event in Dushanbe to celebrate the completion of this three-year project aimed at strengthening land-use rights to help create a land market in Tajikistan. U.S. Ambassador Elisabeth Millard and Chairman of the State Land Committee Ahmadzoda opened the event attended by donor representatives, government officials, and other stakeholders, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe said on August 26.

Tashkent tractor plant and German СLAAS to set up JV in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT (TCA) — In line with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan dated 5 August 2016, a joint venture will soon be established on the grounds of the Tashkent Agricultural Machinery Plant (formerly Tashkent Tractor Plant) with Germany’s СLAAS, one of the world’s leading agricultural machinery producers, Novosti Uzbekistana news agency reports.

USAID assists Kyrgyz farmers in supplying products to a supermarkets chain

BISHKEK (TCA) — USAID’S Agro Horizon Project (through local Public Association Agro Lead) earlier this month sponsored business-to-business meetings in Bishkek and Osh for local agricultural producers. The meetings enabled 58 farmers and small and medium enterprises to explore commercial opportunities for the supply of fresh and processed agricultural products to Frunze, one of the country’s largest chains of supermarkets, the US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan said on 25 August.
