EBRD investment in Central Asia reaches record €1.4 billion in 2015
BISHKEK (TCA) — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invested a record amount in the Central Asian region in 2015. Last year’s total investment rose 75 per cent to €1.402 billion from €803 million, in 82 different transactions following 71 projects in 2014. This brings the total EBRD financing in Central Asia to just over €10 billion, the Bank said.

China becomes EBRD member
BISHKEK (TCA) — China has become the 67th member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Following the completion of all the formalities, the announcement was made after a meeting between the EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Beijing on January 15, the EBRD press office said.

Kazakhstan’s gold and forex reserves almost $11 billion down in 2015
ALMATY (TCA) — The National Bank of Kazakhstan said that the country’s international reserves, including gold and foreign currency reserves of the National Bank and assets of the National (Oil) Fund, in 2015 decreased by 10.6 percent, from US $102.452 billion down to $91.581 billion.

One-window service for investors opened in Kazakhstan
ASTANA (TCA) — Investors in Kazakhstan no longer need to apply to the government agencies for obtaining approval documents. They can now get all the necessary public services for implementation of investment projects in “one-window” service sectors operating at public service centers (PSC), the press office of Kazakhstan’s Ministry for Investment and Development said.
