BISHKEK (TCA) — During the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in China on June 9-10, India stated that its approach towards China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) remains unchanged. India was the only country among the eight members of the SCO to refuse to endorse BRI in the final declaration issued by the group on Sunday, Russia’s Sputnik news agency reported.

TASHKENT (TCA) — High level representatives of all five Central Asian countries, the European Union, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), international and regional organizations, and NGOs gathered for the 8th meeting of the EU-CA Working Group on Environment and Climate Change (WGECC) on 7-8 June in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to discuss the progress in cooperation on environment, climate change and water. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr Massimo Cozzone from Italy, the coordinating EU country for the process, the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan reported.

DUSHANBE (TCA) — The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe on 7 and 8 June hosted a delegation from the Japanese Permanent Mission to the OSCE in Vienna. The main purpose of the visit was to assess the effectiveness of projects funded by Japan and implemented in Tajikistan by the Office in the past several years.
