ASTANA (TCA) — At the meeting on December 25, the Kazakh Government approved the Plan for the Development of Irrigated Lands in the country until 2028. ASHGABAT (TCA) — The Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan has adopted the Resolution declaring 2019 as the year “Turkmenistan – the Home of Prosperity”, Turkmen state media reported. The document says that it has become a good tradition to give the name to a year in Turkmenistan, which forms up the country’s most important events. It supports the enhancement of patriotism and intent of every individual to be involved and contribute to achievements in the country, the Resolution says.

BISHKEK (TCA) — India Ports Global Limited has taken over operations at the Shaheed Behesti port at Chabahar (Iran), India’s Ministry of External Affairs said after the first meeting of the follow-up committee for implementation of the trilateral Chabahar Agreement between India, Afghanistan and Iran, Russia’s Sputnik news agency reported.

BISHKEK (TCA) — Residents and visitors to Karakol, a municipality with a population of over 70,000 people and a major tourist destination in Kyrgyzstan, will benefit from regular uninterrupted access to fresh drinking water, secured after the implementation of a municipal investment project supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Swiss Government through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), the EBRD said on December 24.
