ASHGABAT (TCA) — At the Cabinet session on July 5 to review the country’s performance for the first six months of this year, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov spoke of the “sustainable growth of the Turkmen economy”. The head of state said that the GDP growth rate amounted to 6.2%, manufacturing increased by 4.4%, and trade grew 19.7%. However, immediately thereafter the President issued several reprimands, including severe ones, to Deputy Prime Ministers and ministers responsible for the economy, the foreign-based independent news website Chronicles of Turkmenistan reported with reference to the Turkmen state information agency TDH.

BISHKEK (TCA) — A meeting of the Coordination Council for the Reform of the Criminal-Executive System of the Kyrgyz Republic entitled “Assessment of the Health Status of Convicts and Individuals held in Detention: Problems and Solutions” took place in Bishkek on 5 July. ASTANA (TCA) — French pharmaceutical company Servier and KAZAKH INVEST National Company for Investment Support and Promotion signed an agreement on cooperation in pharmaceutical production. The document was signed by Servier’s EAEU Managing Director Jerome Gavet and KAZAKH INVEST Chairman Saparbek Tuyakbayev, at the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable in Astana on July 3, the Kazakh company said.
