IMF and Swiss government support transparency of fiscal statistics in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (TCA) — A training on government finance statistics took place in Bishkek from October 23 to 27. The course was conducted by the Statistics Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and sponsored by the Swiss Government (Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs – SECO) in the context of the “Central Asia Fiscal Transparency” project, the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Uzbekistan providing state support to privatized enterprises

TASHKENT (TCA) — The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on October 27 held a government meeting to review the ongoing work on improving the state policy for development of private entrepreneurship on the basis of privatized state property, and state support for privatized business entities, the official Jahon information agency reported.

World Bank to help Kyrgyzstan improve heat supply

BISHKEK (TCA) — More than 200,000 people in Kyrgyzstan will benefit from the improved efficiency and quality of heating during cold winter months, thanks to the Heat Supply Improvement Project, approved on October 27 by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors. The project will be financed by the combination of a US $23 million credit and a US $23 million grant.
