1,000th freight train leaves China for Europe

BEIJING (TCA) — A train loaded with clothing and small commodities departed from east China’s Zhejiang Province on May 13, heading for Madrid, Spain. Departing from the manufacturing city of Yiwu, it was the 1,000th freight train linking China and Europe this year, Xinhua reported.

Uzbekistan and China to expand economic cooperation

TASHKENT (TCA) — Uzbekistan is welcome to import more cost-effective and environment-friendly equipment from China to assist its industrialization drive, while China will expand imports of competitive Uzbek products, China Premier Li Keqiang said on May 13 while meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived in Beijing for an official visit and to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation on May 14-15, Xinhua reported.

China’s Belt and Road Forum opens in Beijing

BEIJING (TCA) — Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for closer cooperation across Asia and Europe in areas from anti-terrorism to finance as leaders from 29 countries gathered in Beijing today for the opening of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, the event that would promote a Chinese trade initiative that could increase Beijing’s global influence on trade and geopolitics, RFE/RL reports.

Kyrgyzstan attracts tourists by celestial mountains and nomadic culture

BISHKEK (TCA) — Travel agencies, tourist companies, resorts and hotels of Kyrgyzstan and foreign countries presented their products and services at the Issyk-Kul International Tourism Exhibition 2017. On May 6-7, the Tourism Department under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic together with the Kyrgyz Resorts Association held the event in Cholpon-Ata city at Lake Issyk-Kul.
