Russia’s Gazprom to embark on new oil and gas projects in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE (TCA) — Gazprom International, a subsidiary of Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, says it is about to commence implementation of a number of new energy projects in Tajikistan. For this purpose, a working group has been set up to analyze geological and geophysical materials with a view to selecting new oil and gas exploration targets in the country.

Kazakhstan’s ‘makers’ explore U.S. technology and innovation

ALMATY (TCA) — Five young Kazakhstani technologists returned from Colorado, where they participated in the U.S. government sponsored “Open World” exchange program that explored the “maker movement” in the United States, the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty said on October 24. The maker movement is a technology-based extension of the do-it-yourself culture, focusing on smart application development, electronics, robotics and 3D printing.  It encourages innovation, creativity and problem-solving through technology as well as promotes collaborative learning in social environments.

Kazakhstan’s national atomic company embarks on transformation program

ASTANA (TCA) — Kazakhstan’s national atomic company Kazatomprom plans to implement a total of 26 projects by the end of 2018 as part of its Transformation program which will bring to Kazatomprom an economic effect in the amount exceeding KZT 130 billion by 2025, the company’s CEO Askar Zhumagaliyev said on October 21 at the meeting of Business Modernization and Transformation Board, presenting the key results of the company’s Transformation Roadmap for the current year, the company reported.
