TASHKENT (TCA) — A delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), headed by President Suma Chakrabarti, will visit Uzbekistan on 15-17 March to discuss with the Uzbek authorities ways of increasing EBRD engagement with the country. The Bank has worked in Uzbekistan since 1993 and has a portfolio of investments there but since 2010 there have been no fresh operations, the EBRD press office said.

ASHGABAT (TCA) — The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat is sponsoring three American music experts to work for a week with the State Symphony Orchestra of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, culminating in a joint concert on March 17 at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theatre. The American musicians are traveling to Turkmenistan in honor of Women’s History Month and 25 years of American-Turkmen cooperation. The concert will feature music from both American and Turkmen composers, the U.S. Embassy said.

BISHKEK (TCA) — Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), as the Resources Manager of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilisation and Development (EFSD), and the Kyrgyz Republic have signed an investment credit agreement for US $110 million to be provided by the EFSD to finance the commissioning of Unit 2 at Kambarata hydropower plant (HPP) 2. The document was signed by Dmitry Pankin, Chairman of the Management Board at EDB, and Adylbek Kasymaliyev, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Finance, EDB said on March 13.
