BISHKEK (TCA) — The Kyrgyz Association of Women in the Security Sector (KAWSS) was established on March 2 in Bishkek at a founding conference organized by the OSCE Centre in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Association of Women Police (KAWP), the Presidential Administration, the Parliament, the Defence Council, the Supreme Court, the Government, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Interior Ministry and all state security-providing structures. The aim of the Association is to increase the role of women in the security sector governance field.
BISHKEK (TCA) — The project “Strengthen Prevention and Combating of Corruption in the Kyrgyz Republic” will be officially launched in Bishkek on March 9 with the participation of the Council of Europe and prominent representatives of the main beneficiary institutions in Kyrgyzstan. ALMATY (TCA) — The volume of transit and import/export freight traffic through the Kazakh-Chinese railway crossings Dostyk-Alashankou and Altynkol-Khorgos will be increased by 33 percent in 2017, Kazakhstan’s national railways company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) said.
