BISHKEK (TCA) — China’s southwest province of Sichuan signed nine documents with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on October 19 to strengthen cooperation in trade, tourism, education and health. The agreements were signed at the China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum held in Sichuan's provincial capital Chengdu, which was attended by more than 200 officials, entrepreneurs, researchers and other representatives from China and Central Asian countries, Xinhua news agency reported. BISHKEK (TCA) — From July through September 2016, the United States, through the USAID Agro Horizon project, sponsored a series of business growth events to connect Kyrgyz agricultural producers with local and international buyers. Food processors from Batken, Jalal-Abad, Naryn and Osh oblasts met with potential buyers during three large forums in Almaty, Bishkek, and Osh and through over 100 smaller meetings. These forums and meeting resulted in contracts and agreements that created new economic opportunities for Kyrgyzstan worth $5.4 million, the US Embassy in Bishkek said on October 20. Continue reading
