ASTANA (TCA) — To further increase the volume of rail transit traffic along the East-West transport corridor via Kazakhstan, it is necessary to increase the speed of trains on the entire route from the point of departure to the destination point to not less than 1200 km per day or more, Maksat Kabashev, vice president for development of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) national railways company, said last week at the International railway business forum “Strategic partnership 1520: Central Europe” in Vienna, held with the participation of heads of national railway companies, transport officials of the European Commission, representatives of transport, logistics, machine-building and construction companies of the EU and CIS countries, KTZ reported.

ASTANA (TCA) — The 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kazakh-Italian Working Group for Industrial and Economic Cooperation and Exchange and an Italy-Kazakhstan business forum took place earlier this month in Rome, with the support of Kazakh Invest national company for investment support and promotion. The Kazakh delegation also included representatives of the agrarian sector, who studied the Italian experience of crops cultivation, discussed ways to develop joint investment projects, and visited Italian agricultural enterprises.

BISHKEK (TCA) — From 26 February to 1 March 2018, United Kingdom undertakes second Trade Mission to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. A delegation of seven UK companies, led by the London based organization “British Expertise International”, will meet with the Ministry of Economy, representatives of businesses, and international organizations in Bishkek. The event is aimed at establishing stronger relations around education reforms, policy and infrastructure development, provision of media and IT solutions, the British Embassy in Bishkek said.
