Kyrgyzstan to improve water and sanitation services with World Bank support

BISHKEK (TCA) — More than 100,000 people living in 52 villages across Kyrgyzstan are expected to benefit from improved access to quality water and sanitation services, thanks to US$ 36 million in additional financing for the Sustainable Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Development Project, approved on June 22 by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors. Out of this financing, US$ 19.8 million is a concessional credit, while US$ 16.2 million is a grant.

Astana International Financial Center in Kazakhstan to start working next January

ASTANA (TCA) — During the 30th plenary meeting of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Astana on June 22, chaired by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakh Minister for Investment and Development Zhenis Kassymbek reported on the implementation of the instructions for the establishment of the Astana International Financial Center, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.
