Botanical Garden should be revived in Kyrgyzstan, ecologists say

BISHKEK (TCA) — The Bishkek City Administration plans to use part of the Bishkek Botanical Garden for construction of a new road. The project has already been submitted to the Government. If the project is implemented, the areas with flowers and rare plants, the Arboretum Reserve, and, most importantly, the irrigation system of the Botanical Garden will be affected. According to scientists of the Garden, 227 trees and shrubs of 18 species would be cut down.

DBK and Almex to jointly attract foreign investment to Kazakh economy

ASTANA (TCA) — The Development Bank of Kazakhstan and Almex Holding Group have signed an agreement on cooperation in co-financing projects and attracting foreign investments into the economy of Kazakhstan. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Board of DBK Bolat Zhamishev and the Chairman of the Board of Almex Mazhit Yessenbayev, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported on July 28.

The Afghan terror warning sign on Central Asia’s doorstep

OSH, Kyrgyzstan (TCA) — Afghanistan’s Taliban and the dreaded terror organisations Daesh and Al-Qaeda have launched a third offensive against the country’s border area with Tajikistan, following two earlier attempts to take control of the strategic area on Tajikistan’s southwestern border. The geopolitical impact of the place is enormous, and the danger of it falling into enemy hands becomes more and more acute by the day – leaving distant players in the broader conflict wringing their hands – and doing pretty little.
