Kazakhstan and Canada set up a business council

ASTANA (TCA) — The Kazakhstan-Canadian Business Council has been established by the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan, the Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan, and the Canadian Business Association in Russia and Eurasia (CERBA), Atameken reported on May 30.

Kazatomprom and Cameco restructure Inkai JV

ASTANA (TCA) — Canadian corporation Cameco and Kazakhstan’s national atomic company Kazatomprom have signed an agreement on further development of joint projects for the next 30 years, extension of their contract for subsoil use, and increasing the share of Kazatomprom in their Inkai joint venture from 40 percent up to 60 percent, Kazatomprom said on May 27.

US helps strengthen museums to promote heritage, tourism in Kyrgyzstan

CHOLPON-ATA, Kyrgyzstan (TCA) — The United States through USAID is working with 20 museums across Kyrgyzstan on management in practices to boost their appeal as tourist sites. Local and international experts in museum management will lead sessions for museum and tourism professionals on building networks and strengthening productive cooperation. The first of four training sessions took place in Cholpon-Ata at Kyrgyzstan’s Lake Issyk-Kul last week, the US Embassy in Bishkek said.
