Kazakhstan and UAE to establish joint investment platform

ASTANA (TCA) — Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin held talks with H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates on January 17 to discuss implementation of bilateral agreements reached at the highest level during Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to the UAE on January 15-16, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

Cause of Kyrgyzstan air crash points to poor navigation control, due to financial woes

LONDON (TCA) — Was it “human error”? Was it “technical”? Or was it just the fog? Whatever caused the terrible accident with the Turkish Boeing that crashed on a Kyrgyz village on January 16 should be revealed after the black boxes have been examined. What is probably almost certain is that Kyrgyzstan’s air navigation services are not always functioning as they should.

US, Germany help improve transport and transit connections in Central Asia

ALMATY (TCA) — The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Germany’s GIZ international cooperation agency on January 17 co-hosted a forum in Almaty, Kazakhstan to help facilitate better regional cooperation on transport and transit. USAID’s recently launched ‘Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs in Central Asia’ activity and the GIZ ‘Support to Regional Trade in Central Asia Program’ are seeking to improve regional connectivity and increase economic growth in Central Asia.

World Bank supports Youth Entrepreneurship Forum in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE (TCA) — The second Youth Entrepreneurship Forum was held on January 17 in Dushanbe and brought together over 200 participants – young people, private sector companies, civil society, government representatives, higher education institutions, and development partners. The event, supported by the World Bank Group, celebrated youth entrepreneurship successes to date and raised awareness on the relevance of youth empowerment and capacity development for job creation and economic growth in Tajikistan, the World Bank said.
