Uzbekistan to create three new free economic zones

TASHKENT (TCA) — Uzbekistan plans to create three new free economic zones in the Fergana, Samarkand, and Bukhara provinces, Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Azimov said at the meeting of the prime ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries in Bishkek on November 3, the Jahon information agency reported.

Turkmenistan reports economic growth in 10 months of 2016

ASHGABAT (TCA) — Turkmenistan’s GDP grew 6.2 percent in the first ten months of 2016 according to reports presented on November 4 at the meeting of the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers which reviewed the results of the country’s development in January-October 2016, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

Kazakhstan improving motor road infrastructure

ASTANA (TCA) — Traffic along the transit motor road corridor Western Europe – Western China through Kazakhstan (2,787 km in four lanes) will be opened until the end of this year, Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin said at a conference on the development of roads of national and local significance and roadside services on November 4, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

The ‘rich’ support EEU more often than the ‘poor’ — survey

BISHKEK (TCA) — A survey of the preferences of different income groups in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) countries suggests that higher-income citizens are more positive towards the EEU than economically weaker groups, according to the EDB Integration Barometer, a yearly joint research by Eurasian Development Bank’s (EDB) Centre for Integration Studies and Eurasian Monitor, an international partnership, run since 2012. In 2016, 8,500 respondents from seven countries took part in the survey.
