Economies in Central Asia countries credited with positive reforms, WB report says

ALMATY (TCA) — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan implemented a total of 12 reforms across nine business regulatory areas during the past year. Kazakhstan carried out seven regulatory reforms – the most among the Central Asian countries – thereby creating a better environment for entrepreneurs. Uzbekistan undertook three such reforms, while Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan implemented one each, the World Bank Group’s annual ease of doing business assessment says.

Pro-presidential faction to form new parliamentary majority in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (TCA) — On October 26, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree on the resignation of the Government after the parliamentary majority coalition had officially announced its collapse earlier that day. The ruling coalition of four parliamentary factions — pro-presidential Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK), Kyrgyzstan, Onuguu-Progress, and Ata Meken, was formed on November 2, 2015.
