Presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan launch JV in Tajik city
TURSUNZADE, Tajikistan (TCA) — Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on September 27 visited the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) state unitary enterprise in the Tajik city of Tursunzade and put into operation the first stage of the Tajik-Uzbek joint venture — Limited Liability Company TALCO-KRANTAS, the press service of the Tajik president reported. In July 2018, Krantas Group LLC of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan Aluminum Company established TALCO-KRANTAS plant for the production of truck cranes, tractor-trailers, semi-trailers and other types of machinery. The joint venture was created at the initiative of the presidents of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The joint venture will be assembling 12 types of cranes and special trucks. After commissioning of the second stage of the project, 40 types of special communal and construction machinery will be assembled here. While commissioning the joint venture, Rahmon and Mirziyoyev appreciated it as a lasting step towards strengthening industrial relations between the two friendly and neighboring states. The two presidents also got acquainted with the work of TALCO, Tajikistan’s largest aluminum producer. The plant, built in 1975, was transformed into Tajik Aluminum Company State Unitary Enterprise in 2007. TALCO unites several mining, chemical and metallurgical enterprises. It was stressed that TALCO had introduced modern technologies in the production of products and strengthened cooperation with the world's largest companies. TALCO has established expanded cooperation with the largest manufacturing enterprises of Uzbekistan for the last two years. In particular, this year during the state visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Uzbekistan, TALCO signed an agreement on cooperation with Uzbek production enterprises, on the basis of which 10,000 tons of aluminum will be sent annually to Uzbekistan.
