Kazakhstan ranks second in the world in terms of uranium reserves and first place in its processing. In 2025 Kazakhstan produced about 40% of the global uranium production making it a key contributor to global energy security. Its extensive reserves and mining expertise position it as a major player in the future of nuclear energy.

Chromium Reserves

Kazakhstan holds the world's second-largest chromium reserves, accounting for 16.2% of global deposits, and ranks as third among the leading processors of the metal. Chromium is essential for stainless steel and industrial alloys used in manufacturing, construction, and aerospace. These resources give Kazakhstan a strategic role in global metals and industrial supply chains.

Zinc Production

Kazakhstan ranks eighth in global zinc production and fifth in total reserves. Supported by a strong mining sector and significant reserves, Kazakhstan remains an important supplier to international markets and industrial development.

Tungsten Reserves

Kazakhstan ranks first in the world in terms of tungsten reserves with a share of 63% of reserves, which in physical terms is about 2 million tons. These reserves give Kazakhstan a potentially dominant position in future strategic materials markets.

Rare Earths

Kazakhstan has the potential to become one of the world’s top rare earth reserve holders, with estimated reserves of 2.6 million tons. The recently identified Zhana Kazakhstan deposit could rank among the world's largest if confirmed.
