TASHKENT (TCA) — The Devils' Dance, a novel by Hamid Ismailov and translated from Uzbek by Donald Rayfield (with John Farndon) has won the 2019 EBRD Literature Prize. TASHKENT (TCA) — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) last week signed the first sub-project under the Integrated Cultural Heritage Framework in Uzbekistan, consisting of EUR 300,000 debt to a small chain of Malika Khiva Hotels. The proceeds will be used to finance the refurbishment of three hotels in Khiva, the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan reported. Continue reading

ASTANA (TCA) — The National Museum of Kazakhstan has opened the exhibition “Eurasian Utopia: Post Scriptum” at Suwon Ipark Museum of Art in South Korea. The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the museum. More than 100 works of 57 artists of the Soviet period and modern times are presented.
