BISHKEK (TCA) — The 275,000-strong population of Osh will benefit from a new wastewater plant which has just opened in the second largest city in Kyrgyzstan thanks to financing provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Government of Switzerland, the Embassy of Switzerland in the Kyrgyz Republic and the EBRD said on July 29. DUSHANBE (TCA) — Tajikistan President Emomali Rakhmon on June 25 inaugurated a drinking water supply project that is expected to benefit 58 households, housing 354 people in disaster affected area of Ghudara village of Bartang valley, Rushan district, in Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). The project that aims at improving access to safe drinking water and sanitation was implemented by Aga Khan Foundation and supported by the government of Finland, the Aga Khan Development Network said. ASHGABAT (TCA) — At a meeting with local entrepreneurs at Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on June 8, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov said that the state budget allows for maintaining benefits for the residents of Turkmenistan, the Chronicles of Turkmenistan independent website reported citing official Turkmen media.
