Kazakhstan producers looking to US market

ASTANA (TCA) — A meeting of Kazakhstani producers with Michael Roberts, the head of the consulting company Roberts Group, a representative of the US retail company Wal-Mart Stores Inc, operating under the trade mark Walmart, was held at the initiative of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan. Potato farmers in south Kyrgyzstan achieve record profits with US support

BISHKEK (TCA) — The Aravan Agro Service more than doubled its potato yield and profits in 2016 by partnering with the United States through the USAID Agro Horizon project. Moving to early potato production with high quality seeds and training on effective sales and marketing techniques allowed this cooperative of 217 farmers to increase production from 10 to 25 tons per hectare and sell their produce at significantly higher prices, the US Embassy in Bishkek said on July 6.
