UK business delegation visits Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT (TCA) — The UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, Baroness Nicholson, arrived in Turkmenistan on June 7 for her first visit to the country. Her programme in Ashgabat included calls on senior members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and leading a delegation of British companies to participate at the 5th meeting of the Turkmenistan United Kingdom Trade & Industry Council (TUKTIC) which took place in Ashgabat on June 9, the British Embassy in Ashgabat said. Tajikistan, World Bank sign project to strengthen public finance management

DUSHANBE (TCA) — Tajikistan’s Finance Minister Abdusalom Qurboniyon and the World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan, Patricia Veevers-Carter, on February 17 signed an agreement to finance the Public Finance Management Modernization Project II (PFM-II). The project is financed from the International Development Association in the amount of US$10 million and from the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) in the amount of US $9.8 million, the World Bank said.
