Exhibition to mark 25th anniversary of Kyrgyz-Swiss development cooperation

BISHKEK (TCA) — On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, the Swiss Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic invites its partners and the larger public to the Multimedia Exhibition “Kyrgyz-Swiss Blue Pass” from 27 to 28 of September in the Hangar multi-media center.

With the motto “Partnership for sustainable and inclusive development in Kyrgyzstan” Switzerland has been supporting Kyrgyzstan since 1994 to ensure access to and efficient use of water; access to quality health services; citizen participation and transparent institutions for improved public services; strong private sector for inclusive growth and better jobs; and culture for open, diverse and dynamic societies.

The multimedia exhibition “Kyrgyz-Swiss Blue Pass” will be open in the Hangar multi-media center (11/3 Gorky Street, Bishkek) from 10:00 until 21:00 with a free entry.

The exhibition is an audiovisual storytelling about Kyrgyzstan and the people whose practices are connected with the activities of the Swiss development cooperation in the country. This is a narration about people, places; reflection of feelings and perception of nature objects, sounds and meanings.

The anniversary will be officially celebrated in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Azizbek Madmarov, Vice Director of the Swiss Development Agency, Ambassador Ruth Huber and the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Véronique Hulmann, on September 26, 2019.

Sergey Kwan has worked for The Times of Central Asia as a journalist, translator and editor since its foundation in March 1999. Prior to this, from 1996-1997, he worked as a translator at The Kyrgyzstan Chronicle, and from 1997-1999, as a translator at The Central Asian Post.

Kwan studied at the Bishkek Polytechnic Institute from 1990-1994, before completing his training in print journalism in Denmark.
