Italian companies interested in joint investment projects with Kazakhstan

ASTANA (TCA) — The Ministry for Investment and Development and Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan have conducted a series of meetings with executives from major food companies of Italy, who expressed their intention to establish joint enterprises in Kazakhstan for cultivation and processing of fruit and vegetables, production of dairy products and organic manure, the press service of the Ministry for Investment and Development said on January 25.

The Italians are also ready to assist in creation of innovative projects in food industry as well as in creation of start-ups, selection of projects, business plans preparation, and search for funding for the most interesting projects.

According to Assel Ergaziyeva, Deputy Chairperson of Kazakhstan’s investment and export promotion agency KAZNEX INVEST, representatives of Italian companies will soon visit Kazakhstan to meet with local businessmen and suggest a number of projects for joint implementation.   

For instance, Granorolo company, a major manufacturer of milk and dairy products in Italy, which has 15 plants all over the world, is ready to open agricultural production in Kazakhstan, creating a vertical chain in manufacturing of dairy products (milk, hard and soft cheeses, mozzarella and ricotta, Parma ham, yogurts and other dairy products). The company is also interested in exporting products to Russia, China and Iran through Kazakhstan.     

Italy’s Ottaviani company, specializing in cultivation and processing of vegetables (artichokes, asparagus, broccoli), is ready to construct a plant for processing and freezing of vegetables in Kazakhstan.
