Kazakhstan and Czech Republic set up Business Council

ASTANA (TCA) — On December 12, the Kazakh-Czech business forum took place in Prague, with the participation of Vice Minister for Investments and Development of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Khairov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Jiří Koliba, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

More than 100 representatives of Czech and Kazakh business took part in the forum, organized by the Ministry of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan, the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for CIS countries.

The forum discussed cooperation in investments, industry, insurance, and trade.

Vice Minister Khairov noted that favorable investment conditions have been created in Kazakhstan, and promising areas for bilateral cooperation are transit, engineering, energy, innovation, and agriculture.

In his turn, Jiří Koliba noted the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation. Kazakhstan’s trade with the Czech Republic for 9 months of this year grew by 121% and amounted to about $500 million.

At the forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the CIS countries on the establishment of the Business Council between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic. This memorandum will allow not only to continue work on the implementation of existing commercial arrangements, but also to establish new contacts for the development of promising areas.

Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan Ayan Yerenov, who signed the memorandum, said that the Kazakh side is ready to assist Czech investors and entrepreneurs in finding partners in Kazakhstan.
