Kazakhstan: modern warehouses will be built at Khorgos-Eastern Gates SEZ

ASTANA (TCA) — On December 11, a capsule was laid at the site of construction of modern storage facilities which will be built in the territory of Special Economic Zone “Khorgos – Eastern Gates” on the Kazakh-Chinese border until the end of 2018, the press office of Kazakhstan’s national railways company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) reported.

According to KTZ head Kanat Alpysbaev, the project of construction of warehouse terminals is implemented within the framework of the Plan of the Nation “100 concrete steps” and is aimed at further development of the terminal network of Kazakhstan.

He stressed that the project for the integrated development of Khorgos – Eastern Gates SEZ has become an impetus to stimulate investment in the region. In the territory of the Special Economic Zone, a favorable business environment, an optimal taxation regime, a lack of customs duties, and a well-developed infrastructure have been created.

Great interest of international investors in the development of SEZ is confirmed by proposals for the implementation of investment projects in 2018 for a total of 100 billion KZT. These are projects for the construction of warehouses, a feed mill, a food cluster, and production of building materials.

“Today’s ceremony demonstrates the willingness of foreign companies to cooperate in the framework of our project and they believe in the future development of this region,” said the chief operating officer of Management Company of SEZ “Khorgos – Eastern Gates” Hicham Belmaachi.

Heads of Verno Capital and PNK Group presented an investment project at the logistics zone of SEZ Khorgos – Eastern Gates, which is part of a large project for the construction of more than 100 thousand square meters of warehouse and industrial premises of A class in the regions of Kazakhstan. These warehouses will meet the needs of large manufacturers and cargo carriers for high-quality premises.
