TASHKENT (TCA) — Uzbekistan and France plan to organize an exhibition “Civilization and Culture on the Great Silk Road,” in the Louvre Museum in 2021, the Jahon information agency reported.
The preparation of the exhibition was the subject of the recent international conference organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation at the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, and attended by scientists, archaeologists, museum specialists, and restorers from Uzbekistan and specialists of the Louvre Museum of France.
The official visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to France, which took place in October 2018, strengthened and brought cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
In accordance with the agreements signed during the visit by the heads of the two states, it is planned to jointly organize cultural and educational events and exhibitions. In particular, in 2021, it is planned to hold an exhibition “Civilization and Culture on the Great Silk Road”, in the Louvre Museum.
Specialists of Uzbekistan and France have been cooperating for many years in the field of history, archeology, urban planning, development of cultural dialogue, activities of museums and restoration.
Preparation for an exhibition on the history, stages, chronology of development of civilization on the Great Silk Road is a responsible and complex process that requires a deep scientific approach. More than 300 exhibits have been selected for the exhibition, which will demonstrate a very interesting and diverse historical stage of civilization, and 200 of them will be exhibits of Uzbekistan museums.
