ASTANA (TCA) — A roadmap has been developed for Kazakhstan’s priority export products and export markets, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Isayeva told a press conference on April 3, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.
The most important export markets for Kazakhstan products are member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), China, Iran, and Persian Gulf countries, she said.
The markets of the EEU have been selected because Kazakhstan suppliers are free to move around the EEU countries and there are no barriers to them. Kazakhstan also has some advantages in the Chinese market where it can be competitive in the market of ecologically clean organic products. Kazakh halal products are in demand in Iran, the deputy minister said.
“Currently, we are working with technological experts to certify our products for compliance with the requirements of halal and we expect that we can become the largest supplier of halal products to the markets of Iran and Persian Gulf countries,” Isayeva said.
According to the deputy minister, in addition to promoting Kazakh agricultural products to foreign markets, the roadmap is also aimed at attracting foreign investment in the country.
The deputy minister also said that in the first ten days of April, experts from a special Chinese agency will come to Kazakhstan to inspect the food safety system and processing enterprises for mutton.
This work is a necessary step to start agricultural products supply from Kazakhstan to China. It is aimed at removing restrictions and gaining access to the Chinese market in accordance with the current requirements of the authorized bodies of China.
