ASTANA (TCA) — The newly-appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov сommented on new functions of his ministry with regard to attraction of foreign investment and promotion of products of Kazakhstani enterprises in foreign markets in accordance with the instructions of the head of state regarding the economization of the foreign policy of Kazakhstan, the Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
From now on, the Investment Committee will be transferred from the former Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan and Kazakh Invest JSC to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In view of this, in addition to the main foreign policy activities, we will actively use the mechanism of the above structures. This will give grounds to expect that the attraction of investment will be more focused on foreign investors, the foreign minister said.
Kazakhstan has established effective institutions for interaction with investors at all levels. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be engaged in overall coordination of both investment and export activities, he added.
All sectoral ministries deal with export, and the Foreign Ministry is charged with coordinating their efforts, primarily using the potential of foreign missions, both in the form of disseminating information in a host country, organizing bilateral meetings and negotiations, and directly supporting Kazakh exporters.
Coordinating export activity will allow to study the accessibility of foreign markets for Kazakh products in a targeted manner and to build an agreed negotiating tactic on removing barriers to goods and services from Kazakhstan.
