Kazakhstan invites Singapore to implement joint projects

ASTANA (TCA) — In the course of his working trip to Singapore on November 21, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev took part in the Kazakhstan-Singapore business forum, met with Prime Minister of Singapore Li Xian Lun and discussed cooperation opportunities under the Third Modernization of Kazakhstan’s economy with the leading innovative companies of the country, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

About 500 business representatives of the two countries, heads of state bodies and national companies took part in the Kazakhstan-Singapore business forum.

The Government of Kazakhstan has invited Singaporean companies to actively cooperate and implement new joint projects, as well as to participate in the privatization program and the work of the Astana International Financial Center.

Addressing the forum participants, Prime Minister Sagintayev said that Singapore has become one of the most important trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia, and the two countries have more than 100 joint ventures in the manufacturing industry, trade, ICT, construction and finance.

Sagintayev said that the Government of Kazakhstan invites Singaporean companies to the IT sector; to cooperate on the system-wide implementation of innovative digital methods and technologies; and Smart City Development.

“With the opening of new flights connecting Kazakhstan with Southeast Asia, we invite interested Singaporean companies to implement joint tourism projects and express our readiness to open a direct flight with Singapore,” Sagintayev said.

“I invite Singapore to actively cooperate and implement new joint projects!” the Kazakh Prime Minister concluded.
