ASTANA (TCA) — On June 16 participants of the 3rd Congress of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan adopted the Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Charter against corruption, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.
The Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Charter against corruption was presented for approval by the Congress as a document declaring the support by the business sector for the anti-corruption policy of the Head of State.
“The Charter is not a declarative document. The main social, legal and political significance is that the Charter declares unconditional support of the business sector for the anti-corruption policy of the President and their readiness to assist in its implementation,” the Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Kairbek Suleimenov said.
The Charter members have taken the responsibility for doing business in compliance with established laws. “The business community expressed their full intention to consolidate their efforts to combat corruption. Businessmen intend to work constructively with the government in eradicating corruption. Companies adhering to the Charter undertake to seek the best practices of corporate governance, providing for stringent measures to combat corruption in order to protect their reputation,” Suleymenov said.
According to him, the Charter shall be open for accession by all members of the business community, regardless of their location, registration and activities.
