Uzbekistan presents its fruit and vegetables in Germany

TASHKENT (TCA) — Uzbekistan presented a wide range of fresh and processed fruit and vegetables, dried fruits, and spices at Fruit Logistica 2017 exhibition in Berlin, Germany, earlier this month, the Jahon information agency reported.

The exhibition presented the latest achievements in the field of production, processing, storage, packaging and transportation of fruit and vegetables. This year the event was attended by more than three thousand exhibitors from 86 countries. It was visited by over 70 thousand professionals from over 130 countries.

During the three days that the Fruit Logistica 2017 was open, the national stand of Uzbekistan was visited by a large number of professionals who expressed great interest in establishing long-term cooperation with Uzbek suppliers of agricultural products.

During the exhibition, the Uzbek delegation held talks with representatives of importer companies from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Latvia, Turkey, and other countries. The negotiations produced agreements on the deliveries of Uzbek melons, herbs and dried fruits to foreign markets. At a meeting with representatives of industrial enterprises from Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Spain, the Uzbek side discussed the supply of machinery and equipment for investment projects implemented in Uzbekistan in the sphere of production and processing of fruit and vegetables.

The managing director of the French company Nutritis, Pierre Lapoyad, confirmed that during the talks with Uzbek manufacturers, the sides agreed on the supplies of dried apricots, almonds, apricot seeds, sultanas, and raisins to France. He also said that Uzbek dried fruits are in great demand in the European market.
