US embassy shares American culture through film screenings in Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT (TCA) — On January 3, the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat will kick off its annual Winter Film Screenings, bringing the best of American cinema to cities throughout Turkmenistan.

This year’s screenings offer a wide array of films for children and adults alike, and each film highlights an aspect of American art or culture that will be of interest to all, the Embassy said.

All of the films will be shown in Russian and are open to the public free of charge. The films will be screened according to the following schedule:

Ashgabat – “Ashgabat” Cinema Hall
Sunday, January 3 at 11:00 – Big Hero 6 (cartoon)
Sunday, January 3 at 15:00 – The Maze Runner (feature film)
Sunday, January 3 at 18:30 – Man of Steel (feature film)

Turkmenabat – House of Culture named after the Hero of Turkmenistan Gurbansoltan Edje
Monday, January 4 at 11:00 – Big Hero 6 (cartoon)
Monday, January 4 at 14:00 – The Maze Runner (feature film)
Monday, January 4 at 18:30 – E.T. (feature film)

Balkanabat – House of Culture of Oil Workers named after S. Turkmenbashi
