South Korea investors look to Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda province

ASTANA (TCA) — The director of JSC “Kazakhstan-Korean Center for the Promotion of Cooperation” Woo Jeong Hee arrived in Kazakhstan’s Kyzylorda province to visit the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs and get acquainted with projects included in the Map of Regional Development of the province, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported on February 23.

In 2015 the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Atameken started to conduct studies of the development of entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan’s regions, and began the development of a special map. The database is a tool enabling potential investors to be fully acquainted with the business climate of the country. On the map, they can see priority industries of each region and promising sectors for investment. It is expected that this will significantly contribute to attracting domestic and foreign investments. The Map of the Kyzylorda region includes 11 projects, totaling more than 80 billion tenge.

The head of the Kazakh-Korean Center for the Promotion of Cooperation showed interest in the project “Production of concentrate juice from melon products in the Zhanakorgan district”. The Kazakh and Korean sides discussed delivery of special equipment to Kyzylorda region for the production of such concentrates.

Representatives of the Kyzylorda Chamber of Entrepreneurs suggested the Korean delegation to organize an online conference between businessmen of South Korea and Kazakhstan to discuss issues of bilateral interest and further partnership. The proposal was accepted by the Korean side.
