ASHGABAT (TCA) — Recently, RAI3 channel of Italian State TV Corporation that specializes in educational and cultural programs named Turkmenistan as one of the best tourist destinations for 2018, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
After the series of films about the travelling to different countries and continents, the channel conducted a survey among the audience and made a rating of popular centers with developed tourist services. By the results of the vote, Turkmenistan was the first in History category.
The tourism industry is becoming one of the promising branches of the Turkmen economy.
The strategy of the tourism industry development, approved by Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, is focused on the expansion of the geography and variety of tourist routes, improvement of the services quality and training of qualified personnel in this field, establishment of efficient informational and advertising activity, and development of international relations in the tourism sphere.
Today, Turkmenistan meets the growing demand of European travellers for historical tours around the places with natural exotics, with the contrast between the modernity and ancient times. Travelling along the ancient Silk Road is among the most popular directions with foreign tourists.
Turkmenistan has declared the country’s motto for the year 2018 — “Turkmenistan — the heart of the Great Silk Road”.
