Kazakhstan’s Aktobe second after Astana in terms of business climate

ASTANA (TCA) — Kazakhstan’s Aktobe province is second after the capital city, Astana, in terms of creation of a favorable business climate, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported with reference to a study conducted by the Institute of Economic Research under the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

The worst situation with the business climate is in the Kostanai, North Kazakhstan, and Akmola provinces.

That was stated during a meeting of the Regional Council of Entrepreneurs which was held in Aktobe with the participation of Business Ombudsman Bolat Palymbetov and the Director of Atameken’s Department of public monitoring and work with administrative barriers, Erbol Ustemirov.

An effective tool to determine the favorable business environment for entrepreneurs is the “business climate” rating, which assesses the work of local government bodies. The assessment was conducted according to five criteria: administrative regulation, government support, property, human, and financial resources.

Ustemirov informed the meeting participants about the work that is being done to identify and reduce administrative barriers. According to him, all the systemic problems of entrepreneurs, which are revealed in the regions, are accumulated in the registry of problems. For more than two years of work, it now includes 371 systematic problems, 249 of which have been resolved. Given that some issues need to be addressed through changes in the laws and legal acts, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs has developed and proposed more than 1,100 amendments to existing legislation, 850 of which have been approved.
