Potential of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex presented at Expo-2017

ASTANA (TCA) — At a press conference on September 28 on the application of new technologies presented at the recently concluded Expo-2017 in Astana, Deputy Chairperson of KazAgro JSC Gulnaz Atamkulova told about KazAgro’s exposition presenting the application of “green” technologies in agriculture and demonstrating the potential of Kazakhstan in the production of organic products, the official website of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported.

The exposition demonstrated the achievements of the domestic agro-industrial complex and prospects of organic agriculture in Kazakhstan.

Visitors could get acquainted with the production of dry mare’s milk, see the full cycle of production and processing of turkey meat, see the country’s largest industrial greenhouse, and the production of dietary dairy products.

“Over the whole period of Expo-2017, the exposition of KazAgro was visited by more than 10 thousand people from different countries,” Atamkulova said.

In addition, AgroInvestForum 2017 was organized within the framework of Expo-2017 on August 25, gathering more than 200 participants from 18 countries, including about 40 representatives of large foreign investment funds and financial organizations, as well as representatives of Kazakhstani and foreign agribusiness.

As a result of the forum, agreements and memorandums were signed to attract investments in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, including a financial agreement between the European Investment Bank and Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC for the amount of €100 million for lending of small and medium-sized agro-industrial enterprises in Kazakhstan; an agreement on the project for construction of a modern greenhouse complex on 20 hectares in the Aktobe region between FoodVentures (Holland), ADM Capital (Hungary) and Green Capital Kazakhstan LLP (RK); and an agreement on the creation of an agrarian fund for direct investments between KazAgro Holding JSC and Da Vinci Capital.
