‘Traveling along the Great Silk Road of Kazakhstan’ festival to start Nov 10

ALMATY (TCA) — The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan together with administrations of Almaty, Zhambyl and South-Kazakhstan regions will organize the International Festival “Traveling along the Great Silk Road of Kazakhstan” from November 10 to 16 with the aim of attracting international and domestic tourists and integrating the historical route of the Silk Road Kazakhstan into the world tourist space, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reports.

The Festival is held within the framework of the Year of China Tourism in Kazakhstan, as well as within the framework of the International Year of Sustainable Tourism Development. The mission of the Festival is to develop tourism in the regions that are part of the “Revival of the Great Silk Road” cluster of the Concept for the Development of the Tourism Industry of Kazakhstan until 2023.

The festival will be held on November 10-11 in Almaty, November 11-13 in Taraz, and November 14-16 in Shymkent.

The festival will end with the closing ceremony of the Year of China Tourism in Kazakhstan on November 17 in Astana.

The Festival provides an opportunity for representatives of the Kazakhstani and Chinese tourist business community and representatives of international organizations to get acquainted with the cultural heritage and tourist potential of the cluster “Revival of the Great Silk Road”. In each region there will be info-tours for tour operators, bloggers, civil servants of China, В2В meetings, a photo exhibition “Zhibek Zholy. Kazakhstan”, as well as master classes and seminars of international specialists in the field of tourism.

In Almaty on 10 of November, there will be a master class on teaching of the Chinese language. On 11th of November, a master class of Chinese traditional cuisine will be organized, entitled “Features of cooking for guests from China”.

In Taraz on 12-13 of November, there will be the International Tourism Forum and the international exhibition “Ancient Taraz – 2017”.

In Shymkent on 15th of November, there will be the International Tourism and Investment Forum “Ontustik Tourism. Invest – 2017 from the Great Wall to the Heart of the Silk Road”. The forum will be attended by more than 50 tour operators of China and representatives of tourist organizations from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
