ASTANA (TCA) — Large construction companies of Poland are interested in investing in projects in Kazakhstan’s western Atyrau region, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan reported on March 28.
A Polish delegation had a meeting with local construction companies at the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Atyrau region.
Vice-President of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters, Andrzej Kozlowski, said that it was their first visit not only to the Atyrau region, but also to Kazakhstan. Last year, during his visit to Poland, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the Polish business community, told them about the opportunities of Kazakhstan’s market, and invited them to cooperate.
“Our visit has an introductory character. We need information about the market of Kazakhstan, its capabilities and potential. In turn, we could offer our experience and our achievements, and find partners in Kazakhstan. Our delegation includes not only companies that are ready to offer all types of construction services, but also representatives of financial institutions,” said Andrzej Kozlowski.
During the meeting, the Polish delegation and local construction companies spoke about their projects and exchanged views on possible cooperation. The Polish delegation had a B2B meeting with LLP Atyrau Steel Plant, which plans the project “Production of products and equipment for the oil and gas industry”.
During the visit to Atyrau, the Polish delegation also met with regional leaders, major oil refiners and business structures in the region.
In 2016, the trade turnover of the Atyrau region with Poland amounted to 118.4 million US dollars, and the figure is expected to grow in the future.
